Half Japanese, raised between San Francisco and Japan. Functional health practitioner.
In high school I couldn't look in the mirror — cystic acne, every product, every dermatologist, nothing worked. In my early 30s I burned out so hard I couldn’t get out of bed for days. That was my turning point.
I went back to the rituals and philosophies I grew up with. The miso my grandmother made every morning. The matcha she stirred with the same bamboo whisk for forty years. The seasonal way of eating that I had quietly absorbed and forgotten.
It wasn't another product I needed. It was the wisdom I'd been raised inside of and stopped using.
Now I teach it to women who are done being sold to. This is for the Japanese Baddies.
